Since Christianity is a Person—Christ, the Head of His body, the (worldwide) church (Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:18); then discern (understand) 1 Corinthians 11:27-34, refers to our relationship with Christ AND the other members of His body, the church, for these verses warn us if we do NOT understand and practice this united love relationship, we are supposed to have with Christ AND the other members of His body, we can become weak, sick, and die.
When Christ’s body, the church, is divided; our angry, argumentative, selfish attitude shows we are part of the problem, then Communion (united sharing), is dysfunctional because the members of Christ’s body are waring among ourselves (James 4:1-6), and “not discerning the Lord’s body” (1 Corinthian 11:29-30); therefore, we have estranged our self from Christ (Galatians 5:4), fallen from grace, denied the truth, rejected the righteousness of faith, and choose to serve corrupt leaders controlled by Satan. We should never allow the satanic forces to separate us from Christ AND His other body members.
Until the Holy Spirit reveals the eternal importance of holy, humble, loving unity in the Person of Christ—Him the Head of His body, the church worldwide—we will continue thinking the Communion is about examining our personal relationship with Christ, when in reality it is about examining our personal relationship with Christ AND the other members of His body, the church, because 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 says, when one member of Christ’s body suffers, suffering goes throughout His body, and when one member of Christ’s body is honored, all the members rejoice unitedly, for it takes every individual member to make up the body of Christ here on earth, with Him, our Head in heaven, to complete the Person of Christ (1 John 4:17).
God designed Christianity so the Communion would display the love of Christ, the Head, through the united members of His body, the church worldwide, sharing, so outsiders know Christianity is holy, pure, perfect, and precious—causing all creation to cherish membership in Christ’s body, where all members equally share in obeying and being like Christ, our Head.
Carefully examine our thoughts, words, and actions, so we cooperate, love, and work in repentant, forgiven, steadfast, unmovable, holy unity with members of Christ’s body, the church, so Christ, the Head, along with us, His united body, become “a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-16).
Understand, believe, obey, and do what God says in His word, so it will bring awesome glory, honor, and additional body members into Christianity—the Person of Christ.
Communion shows one body of many individual members, united with the Head, completing the Person—Christ (1 Corinthians 11:27-34); the Communion says, “Examine this relationship”.
