Ask Anything And It Shall Be Given

Matthew 9:18-26; Mark 5:21-43, or Luke 8:40-56 mention anything about the woman with the twelve-year issue of blood, other than that, and how she came to Jesus for her healing, but she could have been a daughter, also a wife and mother, whose continuous issue of blood separated her from her daddy, husband, and child.

From these Scriptures, we know Jairus had a wife and daughter, whose death separated her from her mother and daddy, but we do not know if the demon-possessed man had a wife and children from whom the demons had separated them, but in Luke 8:40, Jesus told him “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you”. In Mark 5:19, Jesus tells him, ““Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you”. So, we are not sure he was married with children.

A wife and mother can easily be defined this way: Always alert and ready for the slightest noise or indication of family harm. She sleeps with one eye and both ears open and is not afraid to oppose anybody or anything attempting to harm her family. She is the weld holding the marriage together, the one laying her life on the line each time she gives life to each of their children. She is the first to say, “I am sorry. Please forgive me”; their children’s first teacher and trainer, and the one from whom their children go to for teaching all through life. She along with other wives and mothers do ninety percent of the church-work, to advance God’s kingdom. Yet she is paid the least amount of money by business owners, but of all God’s creation, He gave women, wives, and mothers, the highest value, but most business owners view wives, mothers, and daughters as their slaves, instead of the weld strengthening the business, for without women: wives, mothers, and daughters, the business would die. Women: wives, mothers, and daughters may be God’s most mistreated creation, but God’s most valued creation. I thank God for my mother, wife, daughters, and sons.

From Ecclesiastes 5:2-5, mothers teach us to speak truth that is easy to explain and obey.

From Proverbs 18:22, we quickly learn what God thinks of women, who become wives and birth daughters to become wives, for God says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord”. The Amplified Bible says in Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a [true and faithful] wife finds a good thing and obtains favor and approval from the Lord”.

Mother, with us four boys went to town one day to buy groceries, and as we were loading them into our car, a lady walked up to mother, saying she would take daddy away from her. Mother never even thought about her answer, but smilingly said, “If you can get him, you can have him.” So, as she walked away, we asked mother why she had given such an answer, so mother told us she and daddy had been married long enough to know she could never get daddy, so do not worry about daddy not coming home at his usual time, for he always has, and always will. He always did. Yes, mother knew the man we all trusted, for we had God’s favor.

When I spent five months in the hospital: 2 months in ICU, 2 months in Hospice, and 1 month in physical therapy, trying to get strong enough for open-heart surgery, the doctors first told my wife to make arrangements with a rest home that accepted patients on breathing machines, and also begin making funeral arrangements for me, but my faith-filled wife, my power of attorney, refused to do either, for she let it be known I would live and not die. It is an unarguable rule in our house that “mother’s word is law”. That was thirteen years ago; thanks to Jesus and a faithful wife, with whom the family has had God’s favor for almost 63 years.

Proverbs 31 is what King Lemuel’s mother taught him about the value God places on women, wives, mothers, and daughters; therefore, God expects men to also see a woman’s value.
