God’s living Word

A careful reading of Hebrews 4:1-16, reveals Israel had made “the Sabbath, the seventh day of rest” a god-idol; therefore, Jesus, the resurrected Christ, God in the flesh, God in human form, to be our Rest (Matthew 11:25-30); therefore, He is our Rest and, “God’s living Word”, for verses 11-13 clearly shows He is, and He in John 5:39-40, says God’s written word points us to Him, as God’s Living, eternal Word, and Life.

Hebrews 4:11-13—11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from HIS sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of HIM to whom we must give account.

John 5:39-40—39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you THINK you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

Therefore, at Jesus’ first coming to earth (known also as the “first fruits of the harvest”; (Matthew 27:45-56), as Bethlehem’s Baby, in Luke 1:26-38 and 2:1-12, the Holy Spirit placed Jesus “God’s Living Word” in Mary’s womb, so “the Holy One” she birthed, was “God’s Living Word”, “God in the flesh”, “God’s Living Word”, “God’s Voice in human form”, “our Rest” (Matthew 11:25-30), so do not make “our Rest in Christ Jesus”, a god-idol of no importance, for He, our Rest, is our daily essential; otherwise, we struggle daily in a traumatic world of anger, control, deception, greed, steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

Luke 23:20-56 is Jesus, “God’s Living Word”, “our Rest” dying on a cross because the Jewish leaders were jealous of Him, for He, God’s Truth, taught the people “the love of money and power” was an evil sin, but since the Jewish leaders loved both money and power, Jesus was a threat to their sinful lifestyle; thus, they planted anger and hatred for Him in the minds of the people to have Him crucified, which was God’s plan from the beginning of creation (Ephesians 1:3-14).

Luke 24:1-53 is Jesus coming out of the tomb as “the resurrected Christ” (John 12:23-26; 1 Corinthians 15:35-38), presenting Himself as “the Living Word”, who reveals Himself to people, so our understanding of “spiritual things” (1 Corinthians 2:1-16), can easily “compare spiritual things with spiritual”, or “ comparing one passage of Scripture with other passages of Scripture” (1 Corinthians 2:13), to receive scriptural truth we may have not known before, so we can live in agreement with God’s written word explaining Christ, God’s Living Word.

This is who Jesus, the resurrected Christ, was at His first earthly coming, but since He did not come as the Jewish leaders expected, they refused to accept or believe He was the promised Messiah; thus, in a jealous rage, they arranged His death on a cross, but they did not expect His resurrection and ascension back to His throne in heaven, to come again to rule for a thousand years, from King David’s throne in Jerusalem, Israel, but He will, so watch for Him soon, to come to midair to call His bride-body-church to Him.
