Forsaken Soul For Unforsaken Love

Jesus, the resurrected Christ, King of kings, Lord of lords, the I AM, gave Himself the title, “Son of Man”—the Man-Child—to show “humility precedes honor” (Proverbs 15:33 and 18:12).

Scripture reveals this truth in Mark 9:30-37, where as soon as Jesus announced, He, the “Son of Man” would be betrayed (abandoned) into the hands of men, be killed, and resurrect the third day, His disciples began “plotting” who was “more qualified” to replace Jesus; thus Jesus “placed an “innocent, very small child” in their midst, commanding, “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me”. Since Jesus never changed this, He still commands it of every generation.

Knowing and understanding Jesus, the resurrected Christ, gave Himself the title “Son of Man”—the Man-Child—then we understand Isaiah 11:5-6 refers to Christ Jesus, “the little Child”, 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist. 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Jesus, the resurrected Christ, “the little Child”, again in Luke 19:1-10, announces His title, “Son of Man”, revealing how “humility precedes honor”, when Jesus announced His title “Son of Man”, inviting Himself to dine with Zacchaeus, an Israelite descendant of Abraham, yet a hated Israelite, chief tax collector for Rome, who willingly pledged half his wealth to the poor, and since he had never cheated anyone, also pledged to repay four times the amount, for he knew he was an honest chief tax collector; otherwise, it would be impossible to reimburse four times, plus give half his wealth to the poor, yet he humbled himself before the Lord Jesus, “the Son of Man”, because Jesus Christ, “God’s Salvation” (Luke 2:25-32), was dining at Zacchaeus’ house, but because the people did not understand who Jesus was, they criticized Jesus for dining with “a sinner”, who was no longer “a sinner”, but “a redeemed giver”.

Jesus, in Matthew 18:10-14, of “the lost sheep”, says He, “the Son of Man” has come to save the lost sheep—these little ones—whose guardian angels always have immediate access into God’s presence, for His protective instructions, because Hebrews 1:5-14, “honors” Jesus, “the Son of God”, “the humble Son of Man”, worshiped by the angels, who verse 14 says, “are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation”—these little ones—these little lost sheep, Jesus, “the Son of Man” came to save.

Whoever desires to be first, must in humility become last (Mark 9:33-37); whoever desires to sit at the head table, must first in humility sit at the last table (Luke 14:1-14), and whoever refuses to bear his cross, by giving their all to God, through Christ, by the Holy Spirit, cannot be His disciple, for this is Jesus’ command in Luke 14:23-33, for us to “forsake all we have”, so we can be His disciple—be like Him—the honor of being Jesus Christ’s disciple is humbling ourselves, by giving our all to Him, and then totally trusting Him. This must be honest desires and not humble words.
