From first John 2:15-23 and James 4:1-10, we learn most, if not all, our inner struggles and fighting against our selfish desires for worldly pleasures, come from our wanting to be totally for God and have our “comfort zone” in the things of the world, so our spirit and flesh continue in miserable, unsettled, inward conflict, which for our health, happiness, and peace, must stop.
First John 2:15-23—15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest (revealed), that none of them were of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and know no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he who denies Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
James 4:1-10—1 Where do wars, and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Just as Revelation 2:18-29 says there is a “Jezebel spirit” in these “last-day churches” that is a lust for sexual impurity; there is also an “antichrist spirit” in these “last-day churches” that is a lust for control, and this “Jezebel and antichrist spirit” must be cast out, in the name of the Lord Jesus (Colossians 3:17), when they manifest or reveal themselves, for the person may not be “possessed” by these satanic spirits, but rather “oppressed” by them; thus, they only “reveal” themselves when things do not go their way, and the longer it is let go the more it divides the church, the body of Christ, but in most churches no one has the bold faith or authority to deal with it, and if done, then check to make sure seven other spirits do not enter (Luke 11:26).
Rather than embarrass ourselves or the offender, we as church leaders and members, try to reason with and pray for the person or persons, and it goes on for months or even years, as it gets worse and an embarrassment to everyone they persuade to “friendship” them, all the while destroying the church by infecting the entire body of believers, because no one dares to face it head-on and cast out those satanic spirits—possibly because no one “has Holy Spirit anointing”, to discern or recognize these satanic spirits of Jezebel and antichrist, but by their revealed actions, we should be able to discern or recognize them (1 Corinthians 12:1-11).
The Holy Spirit working His gifts, for, in, and through church leaders and members is essential in these last days of the church-age, for the members of Christ’s body, the church, has “false pastors and teachers” sent out by Satan, the devil, (d evil 1), to either persuade by deception or by force, the church to turn away from serving the Lord Christ (Acts 2:32-36; Colossians 3:23-25) and serve Satan, who disguises himself as “an angel of light”, “a false apostle or deceiving pastor” (2 Corinthians 11:5-15), to spread satanic deception and falsehood, so “church people” weak in God’s word and without the Holy Spirit’s anointing (1 John 2:18-27), power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:6-7), do not recognize it is a satanic spirit and not “political thinking”, although the two do sometimes go together.
Anointing, faith, and authority are a necessity.
