Obedience As An Expression Of Love

Knowing absolutely nothing about Facebook, and have never wanted to know, yet at the continuous prompting of the Holy Spirit, I submitted to write weekly my thoughts and send them out in prayer to help others as the Lord has helped me.

Kim showed I have already made many unknowing mistakes. Kim did all the set up pictures and helped me get started. I had not planned to ask anyone to friend me, but I did without knowing these were “people I might know”, so I thank all of you for accepting my invitation and for those of you who have not friended me, but I pray you read my weekly (Saturday) thoughts [how I think]. Pray they help you have a close relationship with the Lord.

My being on Facebook is not to receive and return comments, but to reveal the relationship my Lord and I have, whose sweet, personal presence I cherish. But I still love and respect your wanting to comment personally to me. I still love you when I do not comment.

God is always on my mind, and loving people is a constant choice I make, for 1 John 4:7-19 says, when we love others God’s love is perfected in us and His perfected love in us casts out the demon spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). We also see this in Jude 1:20-21, because Galatians 5:6 and James 2:14-17, assures us faith is dead unless it works through love. Therefore, the mistakes we make before asking for help are not as important as loving God and people; praying for those who mistreat, slander, or degrade our character (Matthew 5:44). Choose to obey Luke 6:22-23; and leap for joy; then watch how quickly the joy of the Lord becomes our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), pushing aside their abusive sayings as unimportant in our love for them. “Love never fails” is still the first three words of 1 Corinthians 13:8.

The choices we make today create our tomorrows; therefore, obedience to God and His word is always a very wise choice.
